Africa has turned several corners economically and politically, but there are still serious problems to face in order to conquer poverty and achieve the kinds of individual and national breakthroughs that Asia and Latin America has experienced. Robert Rotberg, Fulbright Research Chair in Political Development at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Visiting Fulbright Scholar at CIGI, discussed the nature of these problems and what is needed going forward in terms of leadership and governance at his March 7th lecture on the CIGI Campus in Waterloo, Ontario.
