The third round table of CIGI'11, which focused on development and food security, was chaired by President and CEO of the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation Maureen O'Neil.

Panelists included Jennifer Clapp (CIGI Chair and Professor, Environment and Resource Studies, University of Waterloo), Gerardo della Paolera (President, Global Development Network), Francisco Sagasti (Senior Researcher, FORO Nacional Inernacional), Keith Bezanson (Private Consultant), William Burke-White (Deputy Dean and Professor of Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School), Lawrence MacDonald (Vice President Communications and Policy Outreach Center for Global Development), and Lourdes Aranda (Deputy Foreign Minister, G20 Sherpa, Mexico).

As world leaders prepared for the next G20 Summit in Cannes in November, CIGI’11 looked deeper into the G20 process with sessions on issues confronting the global economy, while more broadly developing innovative proposals for global governance.
