Serge Bertrand, Captain (Navy), Director of Maritime Strategic Communications

At sea, he has deployed for UN operations off Haiti, for humanitarian operations in Rwanda and he has participated in disaster relief operations in Canada. He has also served as the Chief of Staff of the navy’s national headquarters in Ottawa.

Dr. P. Whitney Lackenbauer, Assistant Professor of Modern Canadian History, St. Jerome's University

His current research interests include arctic sovereignty and security, Aboriginal peoples and warfare, and the environmental impacts of military activities. He recently published "Arctic Front: Defending Canada in the Far North."
