Inside the Issues 3.7 | Corruption

John Williams, CEO, Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) joins David Welch on Inside the Issues for an in-depth discussion of corruption and good governance. After providing a brief background on GOPAC, Mr. Williams speaks to the definition of corruption, noting that just like honesty and integrity, corruption will trickle-down through those in power. The conversation moves to explore GOPAC's various efforts and task forces that work to provide resources and engage parliamentarians from around the world to improve governance practices. Finally, the landscape of good governance is explored with the note that while national legislation is the fundamental piece in the fight against corruption, global coordination and international pressure remain key.
