After sharing her inspiration for writing the book, Dr. Squire delves into her qualitative methodology noting the importance of narrative in understanding the intricacies of context along with the usefulness of personal narratives in creating common understandings to educate others and push for change. Despite its particularities, should HIV be naturalized into mainstream policies? Dr. Squire shares insights on the medicalization, normalization and marketization of HIV before turning to the policy implications of her work.
