Award-winning journalist and Vice-Chair of the UN's Global Commission on HIV and Law Shereen El Feki visited the CIGI Campus to share an innovative look at shifting sexual attitudes and behaviour in the Arab world. Throughout the turmoil that swept across the Arab region in 2011, much of the attention was focused on the protesting and political upheaval. Shereen El Feki, however, has spent the past five years examining the unrest from a different, and still mostly unexposed, perspective: that of sexual attitudes and behaviours among men and women in the region – attitudes which are closely linked to trends in religion, culture, politics and economics.
