CIGI welcomed Anders Aslund to speak at its Global Policy Forum in Ottawa in September 2016. Anders, a leading expert in economic policy in Ukraine and Russia, delivered a speech on the current state of economic reform in Ukraine titled “Ukraine: What Has Been Accomplished, What Went Wrong and What Needs to Be Done.”

Anders is a resident senior fellow in the Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council and served as an economic adviser to the governments of Russia (1991–1994) and Ukraine (1994–1997).
