Abdullahi An-Na‘im is Charles Howard Candler Professor of Law, associate professor in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences, and senior fellow of the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University. He is the author of What Is an American Muslim? Embracing Faith and Citizenship; Muslims and Global Justice; Islam and the Secular State: Negotiating the Future of Shari‘a; African Constitutionalism and the Role of Islam; and Toward an Islamic Reformation: Civil Liberties, Human Rights and International Law.
