Bio

Bertrand de La Chapelle is co-founder and director of the Internet & Jurisdiction Project. He was a director on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) board from 2010 to 2013.

From 2006 to 2010, he was France’s Thematic Ambassador and Special Envoy for the Information Society. In this position, he participated in all World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) follow-up activities and internet governance processes, including in particular the Internet Governance Forum, and was a vice-chair of ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee.

Between 2002 and 2005, he actively participated in the WSIS to promote dialogue among civil society, the private sector and governments. He is a graduate of École Polytechnique, Sciences Po Paris and École Nationale d’Administration.
