Bio

Chris Riley is a distinguished research fellow at the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, the principal at Cedar Road Consulting and a senior fellow for internet governance at the R Street Institute. Among other roles, Chris is a former internet freedom program lead at the US Department of State. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. Chris has worked with a number of open-source organizations across the technology sector on responsible innovation and policy, including GitHub, Brave New Software and Mozilla.
