Bio

After a career as a research scientist, David Jackson served as director of Canada’s National Fusion Program. He now sits on several International Energy Agency (IAEA) committees, was a technical reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s most recent report, is a past president of the Canadian Nuclear Society, a consultant to the IAEA, and former acting director of the McMaster Institute for Energy Studies.

He currently consults for Natural Resources Canada, the Nuclear Waste Management Organization and Sustainable Development Technology Canada; teaches energy courses in McMaster University’s Department of Engineering Physics; and co-authored the book Half Lives: a Guide to Nuclear Technology in Canada (Oxford University Press, 2009).
