Bio
Hopeton Dunn is a leading communications scholar, researcher and policy analyst at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. He holds an endowed chair in Telecommunications Policy and Management and is academic director of the University’s Master’s Degree Programme in Telecommunications Policy and Technology.
Dr. Dunn is the secretary general of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and Chairman of Jamaica’s regulatory Broadcasting Commission. His books and academic papers span the areas of public policy for new media and telecommunications, theories of globalization, and the political economy of African and Caribbean media. He has delivered lectures and presented on academic panels on these subjects in the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
