Bio
Jennifer Tang is an associate for cybersecurity and emerging technologies at the Institute for Security and Technology (IST). Her research focuses on how governments, industry and civil society navigate global security risks posed by emerging technologies and their implications for human security.
Before joining IST, Jenn worked as a junior consultant in international development, with project experience in Ghana, Jamaica, Liberia and the Philippines. She has contributed to consulting projects with clients such as Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the US State Department, including co-authoring a white paper evaluating Canada’s proposed Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and Bill C-27.
Jenn holds an M.A. in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and earned her H.B.A. in international relations and peace, conflict and justice at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs.
