Michael Spence, a Nobel laureate in economics, is a professor of economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business, a distinguished visiting fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and advisory board co-chair of the Asia Global Institute in Hong Kong.

Michael Spence, a Nobel laureate in economics, is a professor of economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business, a distinguished visiting fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and advisory board co-chair of the Asia Global Institute in Hong Kong.

Michael was the chairman of the Commission on Growth and Development, an independent international body that from 2006 to 2010 analyzed opportunities for global economic growth, and is the author of The Next Convergence: The Future of Economic Growth in a Multispeed World. He co-chairs, with Joseph Stiglitz, the Global Commission on Economic Transformation.
