Bio
Namrata Mahal is a program coordinator at CIGI. Her role primarily involves supporting CIGI’s research program coordination, tracking and reporting. She also maintains up-to-date program data on various platforms and program management tools.
Before joining CIGI, Namrata worked as a research fellow and senior manager at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment Council (a joint initiative established by the Government of India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and TERI) for more than a decade. During her tenure, she conceptualized and implemented various strategic plans and programs, keeping context and sustainability at the core. Her quantitative and qualitative research background enabled her to initiate multidisciplinary projects.
She was instrumental in promoting the adoption of the “green building” concept in Western India and successfully mobilized green building dialogues within Urban Local Bodies and the State Public Works Department. Further, she contributed significantly to developing a comprehensive action plan to make Navi Mumbai an eco-city. She has presented and published several articles and papers at various forums and has two books to her credit. She also travelled to Germany and Australia to share her knowledge and experience with other subject experts.
Namrata earned a master’s degree in project management from the Rachana Sansad Institute, Mumbai and a certification in strategic global business management from Conestoga College to acquire specialized knowledge and skills in international business.
