Bio

Nicola Phillips is professor of political economy and director of the Centre for the Study of Political Economy at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. She holds a Ph.D. in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and has published several works in the fields of international political economy and development, with a particular emphasis on the Americas. 

Among other positions, she is managing editor of New Political Economy, co-editor of the International Political Economy Yearbook series and associate fellow of Chatham House. Her most recent books are The Southern Cone Model: The Political Economy of Regional Capitalist Development in Latin America (Routledge, 2004) and Globalizing International Political Economy (ed., Palgrave, 2005).
