Rajiv Kumar is Director and Chief Executive of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICR IER), a New Delhi based economic policy think tank. He holds both a D.Phil in Economics from Oxford University and a PhD in Economics from Lucknow University.

Rajiv Kumar is Director and Chief Executive of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICR IER), a New Delhi based economic policy think tank. He holds both a D.Phil in Economics from Oxford University and a PhD in Economics from Lucknow University.

Dr. Kumar is a member of the Indian National Security Advisory Board, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, and was previously the Principal Regional Economist for the Asian Development Bank in Central Asia, ADB Chief Economist for Mongolia and China, and chief economist with the Confederation of Indian Industry. He was professor at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, teaching competitive strategy and micro economics, and has published books and articles and contributes regularly to newspapers and journals.
