Bio
Tarunima Prabhakar is a technologist and a policy researcher, focused on building more just and equitable digital spaces through cross-disciplinary collaborations. She is the co-founder of Tattle, a civic technology organization, where she leads strategy and research. Tattle develops technologies and data sets to amplify civic responses to online harms such as misinformation and gendered abuse.
Tarunima’s work focuses on applying feminist critiques of dominant technology paradigms to create infrastructures and digital spaces centred in care.
She is a non-resident fellow at the Centre for Responsible AI, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and has previously held non-resident fellowships at Carnegie India and at the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity at the University of California, Berkeley. She has worked on award-winning tech for good projects with non-profits and tech companies.
