Alejandro Pachon

Alejandro Pachon is a Ph.D. student at the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs. He holds an M.A. in public and international affairs from the University of Ottawa, a B.A. in political science from the University of Alberta and a B.A. in sociology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

Alejandro Pachon is a Ph.D. student at the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs. He holds an M.A. in public and international affairs from the University of Ottawa, a B.A. in political science from the University of Alberta and a B.A. in sociology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

His current area of research concerns the effects of external support on domestic institutional development, particularly on security institutions. In this context, Alejandro’s work seeks to examine the security-development nexus as well as the doctrine of security sector reform.
