Alison Mountz is professor of geography; Canada Research Chair in Global Migration at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Wilfrid Laurier University; and the 2015-2016 William Lyon Mackenzie King Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies at Harvard University. Her book, Seeking Asylum: Human Smuggling and Bureaucracy at the Border (Minnesota), was awarded the 2011 Meridian Book Prize. Her scholarship explores the practices and politics of migration, asylum-seeking and border enforcement.
