Daqing Yao is an associate research professor at the Institute of World Economy, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, China. He obtained his bachelor of engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University and his Ph.D. in economics from Fudan University.

Daqing Yao is an associate research professor at the Institute of World Economy, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, China. He obtained his bachelor of engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University and his Ph.D. in economics from Fudan University.

His main research interests include international currency theory, the internationalization of renminbi, foreign exchange policy and the economic integration of the euro area. His main research grants include a project called “The Study on Currency Internationalization based on Dynamic Evolution and Money Searching Methods” from the highly competitive Chinese National Social Science Foundation.

He has published papers in the National Bureau of Economic Research working paper series and several peer-reviewed international journals, including The World Economy and Journal of Economic Integration, as well as dozens of papers in Chinese journals. His monograph entitled International Currencies: Status Analysis and System Reformation is to be published in the near future.
