Considering the 3D Approach

November 23, 2005

Canada's effort to coordinate defence, development and diplomacy in foreign policy is known as the new "3D" approach. This coordinated effort has been used effectively in Afghanistan, and may serve as a model for future Canadian international efforts. The "Canada in Haiti: Considering the 3D Approach" analyzes the possibilities and problems of implementing this approach in Haiti.

Academics from Canada, the US and Haiti, together with officials from the Canadian Departments of Defence, Foreign Affairs and the Canadian Development Agency assembled at CIGI to examine Canada's past and current engagements in Haiti.
