June 22, 2015

The purpose of this consultation workshop was to discuss emerging issues in international trade and investment law, to develop a more detailed research agenda, and to identify research partners who would be interested in collaborating with CIGI’s International Law Research Program.

Topics included: plurilateral versus multilateral trade agreements; trade subsidies; improving processes in investor-state dispute settlement; and investor-state arbitration between developed economies. The conference concluded with discussion about opportunities for specific and tangible research projects on international trade and international investment law.
