"Scheuble spoke to reporters today in Washington and was asked three times in the press conference whether the Trump administration has given them any clarity or certainty on where they were going with trade and he didn't really want to take the question," says Kevin Carmichael, CIGI senior fellow. "He pushed back each time saying that the Trump administration hasn't settled on own their trade policy, that it's not G20's role to speculate on where the US might go."
