CIGI’s Global Economy Program and Balsillie School of International Affairsare co-hosting a roundtable discussion on emerging markets and the Global Economy, featuring the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Duvvuri Subbarao.

Emerging market economies (EMEs) have undergone a rapid expansion over the past few decades, becoming a critical engine of global economic growth. This workshop will discuss the ways in which EMEs offer opportunity, or pose a threat, to the global economy with the intent of identifying potential areas for improvement in domestic and global economic governance.

Of particular interest is understanding how central banks in EMEs can help reduce capital flight, financial volatility and economic uncertainty. CIGI's Alex He, Domenico Lombardi, Pierre Siklos, Samantha St. Amand, and Hongying Wang will speak.
