Who is the winner in the artificial intelligence (AI) war between the United States and China? This is a question that is often asked, but the answer is often either too simple or too complicated.
A research paper published by CIGI titled "Competing in Artificial Intelligence Chips: China's Challenge Amid Technology War" by Dieter Ernst outlines the challenges facing China's AI ecosystem from an industrial and historical perspective, and points out that if the United States continues to prevent China from acquiring American technology, China's AI development trajectory may change accordingly.
