Episode 8: What Role Can LATAM Take in Coalition-based AI Governance?

Theme:
Latin America can play an active role in AI governance. It has regional institutions, shared legal traditions, and a history of multilateral cooperation that few regions can match. But can it turn that foundation into coordinated action?

Coalition-based governance may offer a practical path forward. LATAM countries could align on common standards, share regulatory capacity, and negotiate as a bloc. The tools exist. Regional ties are deepening.

Speakers

  1. Dr. Julia Pomares, Regional Director, Global Initiative for Digital Empowerment, LATAM Chapter, Argentina
  2. Antonia Moreno, Head of Public Advocacy, National Center for Artificial Intelligence, Chile
  3. Dr. Alejandro Pisanty, Professor of State Physics, UNAM, México
