CIGI and the Reset Initiative were pleased to host the first Global Platform Governance Network deep-dive session.
Governments need access to relevant, up-to-date and methodologically sound research to support policy decision making. When it comes to platform governance-related research, there are a number of factors that complicate this goal, including the volume and type of research being produced, limited access to data for governments and researchers, along with the usual difficulties of knowledge dissemination and translation.
The meeting served as a launch for the Global Platform Governance Network Research Working Group, which will develop a multi-year research plan that can be used by member countries, identify strategies to harmonize collaborative research efforts and seek solutions to existing barriers to research.
The meeting was hosted by CIGI’s Chris Beall and Taylor Owen and featured Ben Scott of Luminate.
