US President Donald Trump is expected to announce this week that he will pull the United States out of the Paris Agreement. Silvia Maciunas, deputy director of International Environmental Law at CIGI, discussed what impact US withdrawal from the Paris agreement will have on the landmark climate accord and how will it affect Canada.
“It's important to know that this is a treaty that has 147 parties, so the withdrawal of one party that has significant emissions and has provided a lot of financial support to the regime is a drawback. But it is not fatal.”
